The Muller

Deeply rooted tradition

All against the winter: They instill awe and put winter to flight every year. The Weerer Muller are a vivid testimony to deep-rooted tradition.

The colorful goings-on are not to be missed. Back to the 17th century, records tell of how big guys with heavy bells go through the village on Fasnacht Thursdays and elicit muffled sounds from them through rhythmic movements. A "mords Trumm" man must be, who carries a large, 35 kilo heavy bell.
