Schutzhütte Weidener Hütte

The Weidener Hut in the  Tux Alps is a popular base for hikers, climbers, and mountain bikers or for ski tourers, snowshoe hikers, and sledders, depending on the season. Just like day visitors, families with children are of course warmly welcomed at any time of the year – as shown by the quality seal “With Children in Huts” with which the Weidener Hut has been awarded.

If it gets too cool on the large, sunny terrace, the day can comfortably wind down in the newly furnished guest room with bright wood. The extensive renovation and expansion have ensured that the hut’s facilities are modern and offer a relaxed stay.

The Weidener Hut is one of six stages along the internationally renowned multi-day Inn Valley High Trail 2000 through the Tux Alps. From the parking lot in Innerst - directly at the Gasthof Innerst - on a forest path going down the valley and slightly downhill to the Nurpensbach. Right over the bridge and up to the crossing road. Once again, taking a short cut through the forest, and then leisurely along the path to the beautifully located Weidener Hut.

In summer, the Weidener Hut is the base for the MTB Transalp Route over the Geiseljoch towards Lake Garda.

Those who wish to stay overnight at the Weidener Hut can choose between cozy double and four-bed rooms, our popular bedding dream (12-bed room), or the classic mattress dormitory, which also offers two cozy "cabin dormitories" for 3 people each.

  • By prior arrangement dogs can be accommodated in the heated ski room but must behave quietly! (A companion can optionally stay overnight with the dog by arrangement.)
  • For hygienic reasons, a light hut sleeping bag must be used for overnight stays in all lodgings.

At the Weidener Hut, you will find a charging station for e-bikes!
