FRIDAY: Umlbergrunde - Silberregion Karwendel

FRIDAY: Umlbergrunde

Together with hiking guide Walter we drive with our own cars to the small village of Terfens.

Terfens and the Umlberg are situated on a sunny terrace at the foot of the Karwendel and impress with beautiful views of the lush green peaks of the Tuxer Voralpen. At our starting point, the small pilgrimage church Maria Larch, Walter tells us some interesting details about this place of power. Here we fill our drinking bottles with this fresh water at the bubbling fountain. It is "right-turning" and not only tastes particularly good - it is also said to have a healing effect. Many locals come here with canisters and bottles to take this special water home with them.  Along the Larch Valley we now walk leisurely along fresh meadows and deciduous forests to the Umlberg. A fantastic view in all directions invites us to take a deep breath and pause for a moment. Only a few more minutes on foot, the farmer's wife Rosi awaits us on her beautiful farm. In the shady place under a tree we enjoy a small snack of farm and regional products. Besides cackling geese, sneaking cats and curious goats, ponies, alpacas and llamas romp around the farm.   After this restful rest we start our way back, already thinking about the pleasure we will enjoy next.
