Museum der Völker - Museum of Ethnology
People - Culture - Stories

At the Museum of Peoples in Schwaz, you will encounter objects from West Africa, Southeast Asia, Oceania and Tyrol. The exhibitions invite visitors to explore identity, rituals, role models and different ways of life.

The museum sees itself as a place of dialogue and reflection: visitors are invited to think about their own point of view and learn about different cultural perspectives. The aim is to establish a connection to one's own life and experiences – and to locate one's own views. Interactive educational offerings such as lectures, workshops, concerts, etc. complement the exhibitions and open up new approaches.

Special exhibition:

THE NOISE UNDER MY SKIN – SUSANNE LINER

How can we succeed in viewing a woman's "being" – neutrally, originally, perhaps crudely, but above all timelessly? How can we show the broad spectrum of our own perceived lives? Susanne Liner "wanders" through her multifaceted womanhood in pictures, showing all sides with unrestricted openness, whether beautiful or ugly, strong or vulnerable. There is an ongoing accompanying programme for the exhibition.

Information is available at:https://museumdervoelker.com/en/besuch

The exhibition runs until 24 May 2026.
