The Kleine Gilfert ("Small Gilfert"), or, as the peak is also know by the locals, the "Nurpener Hippold" has a unique and culturally unifying peak monument: "The eternal and everlasting word is only heard in silence". - Meister Eckhart

Descent: From the peak to the bottom of the Nurpenstal there are several variants to ski down. You may choose the way that suits you best.
Ausgangspunkt: Weerberg, Parking lot Innerst, (Parkgebühr € 3,-- / Tag)

Routenbeschreibung: From the parking lot Innerst follow the way signs in direction Stallnalm and Nurpensalm. Shortly above the parking lot you climb "Othmar's Meadow", then cross a forest road twice between two birches and the Erika-Cabin after which you reach the forest road again. Proceed followinging the road signs in direction South-East, to Stallnalm and Nurpesalm. At 1.610 m (5,280 ft) pass a the Stallnalm, a beautiful ancient cabin, from which the small "village" Untere Nurpensalm below the Rosslaufspitze is visible. At 1,680 pass a very old pine with a wayside cross dedicated to Saint Hubertus. Shortly after crossing the Nurpesbach brook make a sharp turn South-East and leave the forest road and proceed over the clear terrain from which our goalm, Kleiner Gilfert, is already visible. Cross the brook again at a water catchment and leave the valley bottom behind, march on in eastern direction to the Unteren Nurpensalm Hochleger. At 1.890 m (6,200 ft), leave the forest road and look for a route to our liking in direction South-East in the clear terrain. After reaching prominent boulders at 2.180 m (7,150 ft) it is only a few more meters in altitude to the peak of the Kleiner Gilfert. You can circumvent the rock sill below the peak on a path in the Eastern direction.

How to find:
From Innsbruck: Autobahn A12 to exit Wattens, then in direction Schwaz, Here go uphill to your right in Pill in direction Weerberg and on to Innerst.

From Kufstein: Autobahn exit Schwaz, in Schwaz to your right to Pill there to your left uphill to Weerberg.
