Innsbruck's Nordkettenbahnen lifts and cable cars
...

It takes just 20 minutes to get directly from Innsbruck city centre to Austria's largest nature park. The modern Hungerburgbahn railway takes visitors from the heart of the old town - with a stopover at the Alpine Zoo - up to the Hungerburg in comfort. From there, the cable car continues via Hermann-Buhl-Platz to the 1,905 metre high Seegrube and finally to the 2,300 metre high Hafelekar. The view here stretches in all directions - with Innsbruck on one side and the Karwendel Nature Park on the other.

Nature experiences await at the top all year round: In summer, hiking trails lead through the impressive mountain landscape, while in winter, sunny pistes in the middle of the high alpine terrain beckon. Sporty mountain adventurers are an eye-catcher on the steep slopes, while connoisseurs can take in the panorama in peace and quiet.

The Nordkette also has plenty of culinary delights to offer: On the Seegrube, the restaurant of the same name spoils you with Tyrolean classics and international delicacies. And right at the top, on the Hafelekar, the ‘Top of Innsbruck’ with a view of the Karwendel Nature Park invites you to enjoy delightful moments at an altitude of 2,300 metres.
