Circular walking route from Stans to the pilgrimage site of St. Georgenberg.

Feel the peace and tranquillity as you make your way along the two Stations of the Cross towards the monastery at St. Georgenberg – Tyrol’s oldest place of pilgrimage.
Once you reach the top, it’s well worth stopping for a break at the pilgrims’ café, beneath ancient chestnut trees and enjoying some culinary delights.

Directions:	Route: The starting point is the car park in Stans, next to the white and yellow St. Laurentius Church in the eastern part of Stans From the car park, the route is well signposted; follow the signposts towards St. Georgenberg The walk begins with a short stretch along a tarmac road until you reach the junction for Maria Tax/St. Georgenberg. From here, the actual Way of the Cross begins on a gentle, mostly gently ascending forest path leading to St. Georgenberg, Tyrol’s oldest place of pilgrimage. Only the final ascent is somewhat steeper. On the return journey, follow the signpost to Stans; another Way of the Cross leads back to the starting point
