The Chapel Circular Walk takes you past six chapels in the municipalities of Schwaz and Gallzein. Each chapel has its own history and charm.
Around Schwaz, there are numerous carefully restored chapels dating from the heyday of mining. For the miners, these were places of contemplation and prayer following their hard and dangerous work in the mines. Several chapels were also built near farmsteads, sparing the farmers the long journey to the church in the valley, particularly in winter. A scenic circular walk takes you along side roads and shady forest paths to six of these historic places of worship.At a Glance | |
