Over the Arbeserkogel to the Kellerjoch Hut (IVV)

The Kellerjochbahn cable car takes you to the Hecherhaus and on via the Arbeserkogel to the Kellerjochhütte.

The first few metres of altitude to the Hecherhaus are covered by the Kellerjochbahn cable car (for sporty hikers, there is of course the option of walking to the Hecherhaus). On the way over the Arbeserkogel to the Kellerjochhütte, the view sweeps from the Großglockner to the Großvenediger and meets the Zugspitze in the north-west – a panoramic view of the most striking peaks and mountain ranges of the Eastern Alps.

Directions:	Tour route: Take the Kellerjochbahn cable car up to the Hecherhaus (also possible on foot) From the Hecherhaus, follow the Kellerjochweg trail with a moderate incline over the Arbeserkogel to the Kellerjochhütte To return, first hike along the same route to the crossing path. Then descend the Naunzstand over the steep, grassy south-western slopes to the Serpentinensteig trail, from where you can walk between the alpine buildings to the Naunzalm – Hochleger. Finally, ascend via the Bockstallweg trail back to the Hecherhaus. Return to the car park via the Kellerjochbahn cable car (also possible on foot)

Tip from the author:	This hike is a permanent trail of the Austrian Volkssport Association (ÖVV). These are marked hiking trails that you can hike independently at any time with a start card and route map. There are checkpoints along the way, and at the finish line you will receive an IVV rating stamp for each route – ideal for personal participation and kilometre ratings as well as shared hiking experiences in nature.
