The Achensee 5-summit via ferrata offers steep ferrata passages and hiking sections over a length of 2km. It connects 5 peaks with routes of varying difficulty.

The via ferrata on the Seekarlspitze in the Rofan mountains leads to the north wall and boasts breathtaking views. The most impressive section is the traverse of the north face right at the beginning.

Information

Approach:From the top station of the Rofan cable car, follow the Grubersteig in the direction of the Rofanspitze. At the Gruberscharte, turn left in the direction of the Spieljoch to the prominent ridge, which is embedded between the Rosskopf (= down climb of the Rosskopf via ferrata) and the Seekarlspitze.

Getting there:The valley station of the Rofan cable car is located directly on the Achensee main road B181, above the centre of Maurach.
Public transport:Take the regional bus (line 8332, 4080 or 390) to the Rofan cable car in Maurach. get off at the "Maurach a. A. Rofan Seilbahn" stop. Ascent with the Rofan cable car. 
Descent:Descend from the summit of the Seekarlspitze on the signposted hiking trail back to the top station of the Rofan cable car or walk to the next via ferrata on the Spieljoch.
Parking:Car park Rofan Seilbahn 1 or 2 (paid parking; Rofan cable car passengers receive a refund at the ticket office).
