Auf den Spuren des Schwazer Silberbergbaus
Leisure Biking
The ten chapels that this route follows largely date from the heyday of silver mining. For the miners, who were doing their hard work in the mine, the chapels had devotional and gratitudinal altars.
The parking lot at the St. Martin cemetery is exactly on the route, one gets out of the car and is already on course if one keeps northwest and follows the road. The Zehn-Kapellen-Weg leads along side roads and shady forest paths through the best local recreation area. The area below the Eiblschrofen was completely redesigned after the rockfall in 1999, is now considered safe and offers new sights with the Schwazer Silberwald and the two dams (east and west dam). From the driving point of view, the east dam is of particular interest, which is suitable for a branching point for the purpose of a technical unit: A large number of narrow serpentines wind uphill - hardly drivable in this direction beyond the 3rd serpentine. Downhill, however, you can do beautiful balance exercises on this sunny slope. The views of the hikers strolling along the dam are safe in any case.
Tip: Visit the silver mine of Schwaz.
