The hike offers stunning views of the Karwendel Mountains’ impressive rock faces, which tower above the Stallental valley. From Stallenboden, you can often spot chamois on the rock faces.

Directions:Route description:
  • Drive through the village of Fiecht towards St. Georgenberg, past the Weng car park, until you reach a small, isolated farm on the right.
  • The tarmac road gives way to a gravel track until the turn-off to the Bärenrast car park branches off to the right.
  • Now it is time to leave the car and walk along the romantic forest path to the Stallenalm.
  • Soon the impressive rock faces of the Karwendel mountains with their huge boulders come into view. From the Stallenboden, you can often spot chamois on the rock faces.
  • From the Stallenalm, follow either a hiking trail or a rough, gravelly mountain road, following the signposts to the Lamsenjochhütte. This ascent will take you about 2 hours.
  • The return journey follows the same route.
