Over the Hohljoch to the Falkenhütte
...
Fantastic panoramic hike in the middle of the Karwendel mountains with goose bumps under the Laliderer walls.
From the Eng car parking lot, this forest path leads to the Engalm. In summer there are many cows on the mountain pasture, which characterize the landscape. The milk is processed into the famous "Enger Almkas" in the alpine dairy. A hiking trail leads from the Engalm to the Hohljoch. The view from there over to the Falkenhütte, surrounded on the south side by the famous Laliderer walls, is unparalleled.
Below the Lalider walls, the hiking trail leads to the Spielissjoch. There a forest road leads up the last vertical meters to the Falkenhütte. The terrace offers an enormous view of the Karwendel and one realizes why the Karwendel is so popular with hikers and mountain bikers. The Falkenhütte lies at 1848 metres above sea level and is open from mid-June to mid-October. Good plain cooking and overnight accommodations are offered. We go back the same way. The path is long and therefore more suitable for children with good physical condition and older children.
