In the footsteps of the Fugger.

The silver city
experienced browsing

There are many beautiful ways to experience the fascinating places of silver-rich Schwaz history, but this option is by far the cosiest. "FUGGER EXPRESS of the Silver Region Karwendel" was christened the train that travels from the silver mine to the sights of the Silver City.

As was the case back then, the historic buildings of the Fuggerzeit stretch upwards, be it the preserved Fuggerhaus, the parish church or the Franciscan monastery. The FUGGER EXPRESS will drive you through the alleys and corners of Schwaz's old town, transporting you into a time marked by the glimmer of silver.

At a total of six stops you have the opportunity to delve deeper into the history of the Silver City and to explore sights such as the Schwaz Town Hall and the Knappensteig, a themed trail around the former mining. You can truly immerse yourself in the kilometer-long underground network of the silver mine.

Designed as a hop-on / hop-off bus, you can take your time, rest and experience the Schwazer history decelerated. The time spent in the FUGGER EXPRESS was also valuable because the charming voice of Madame Galerista transports you via loudspeakers into days gone by and tells of the poverty, power and wealth of the silver city of Schwaz.

The hop-on / hop-off tickets for the FUGGER EXPRESS, including the audio guide on the train , are available directly in the train.
