Family time in nature
2026 has a very special highlight in store for our guests' children: the new Silver Ranger Karwendel program - together with their parents. The highlights are the ranger days on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but there is also a varied program on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays - e.g. farm visits on the Weerberg, around the Kellerjoch or a legend storytelling at the castle.

Why with parents?
Because shared experiences bring people together, provide security and turn the ranger adventures into real family moments.

Important to know:
Parental accompaniment is mandatory for all program items - with one exception: Wednesday at the Schiestlhof.

All information at a glance

You can experience the program in two different weeks
If you take two weeks of vacation, you will experience two different programs
Children can participate by the day or for a full week
All modules can be experienced individually - entry is possible at any time, as no course builds on another
The Ranger Program only takes place on Tuesday and Thursday
Ranger levels: Junior Silver Ranger (4 modules) - Silver Ranger (8 modules)
Parent accompaniment is mandatory for all hiking and ranger days
Exception: Wednesday - Farm (without parents)

MONDAY

Experience in Vomperloch: Family hike
10:00 am | Karwendelrast parking lot, Vomperberg

The Vomperloch provides us with deep insights into the "Grand Canyon of Tyrol" to experience many an adventure. We will get to know the magic of trees and learn about edible wild plants. Be curious!

Tour details: 7 km, 200 meters in altitude
Time: approx. 3 hours
Take enough food and drink with you
With sufficient breaks
The day is accompanied by exciting stories and outdoor activities

TUESDAY

Ranger Program - Loassattel - Modules 1 & 2
10:00 a.m. | Pillberg Parking Lot/Loas Turn-off
From the Pillberg Parking Lot, we’ll travel together to the Gamsstein Parking Lot

Module 1: Survival & Nutrition in the Outdoors

Edible plants, proper behavior when exhausted, teamwork & responsibility, energy in the mountains

Module 2: Navigation Without a Cell Phone

Using a compass correctly, navigating by the sun & shadows, reading maps & assessing terrain

WEDNESDAY

Farm Visit at the Schiestlhof
Schiestlhof, Weerberg | 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Meeting point: 10:00 a.m. | Schiestlhof, Schmalzgasse 23, 6133 Weerberg, or transfer via the Karwendolin Express from/to Schwaz and Weer
Registration by Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
Fee: €6 for lunch
Pickup at 4:00 p.m. or return trip on the Karwendolin Express

Storytelling in front of Tratzberg Castle
Tratzberg Castle parking lot, Stans | 8:00 p.m.

Meeting point: 8:00 p.m. | Tratzberg Castle parking lot, 6135 Stans
Registration by Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.
Duration: approx. 2 hours

THURSDAY

Ranger Program - Wolfsklamm - Modules 3 & 4
10:00 a.m. | Stans Elementary School parking lot

Module 3: Masters of Water

From the mountain spring, theoretical principles of water filtration, dangers of flooding, the path of water in the mountains

Module 4: Safety in the Mountains

Identifying natural shelters, carving a tool, protection from wind & weather, safety rules in the mountains

FRIDAY

Nature experience day on the Arbeser Kogel
10.00 am | Kellerjochbahn valley station parking lot

Ride up from Grafenast to the Hecherhaus on the chairlift, then start the circular hike with breathtaking views of the Karwendel mountains and the Inn Valley, descent via Larcheggsteig back to the Kellerjochbahn/Grafenast parking lot

Tour details: approx. 150 vertical meters ascent, 450 vertical meters descent, trail length 6 km
Walking time: approx. 3 hours in total
