KLANGSPUREN SCHWAZ - THINK THE FUTURE
Sound art and composition make Schwaz memories, city noises and bell ringing tangible as careful listening to the future
This year, two commissioned works deal intensively with the city of Schwaz: composer and sound artist Claudia Molitor and composer Anto Sophia Manhartsberger work with a keen eye for memory and the present, with sounds and stories that are otherwise easily overlooked. In "Gedenke die Zukunft", Claudia Molitor collects voices, noises and memories of the city and uses them to create a work of sound art between installation, soundwalk and performance, in which listening becomes caring across generations. Anto Sophia Manhartsberger focuses on the ringing bells of the Schwaz parish church and deliberately alienates this familiar sound so that the urban space itself becomes a place of attentive listening.
