100 years of the 1st Andreas Hofer Rifle Company at Ostergrab

The Easter burial vigil is held in the parish church from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a changeover every half hour

The year 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of our company taking over the Easter burial guard at the Holy Sepulchre in Schwaz parish church, which was taken over by the Austrian army at the time. Despite interruptions due to the war and pandemic, we carried it through time, at times as the only burial guard of a rifle company in Tyrol, and it still exists today as an integral part of the Schwaz Easter tradition.
