Jazz fusion on an international level with the Iranian-Canadian composer Golnar Shahyar
Iranian-Canadian singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Golnar Shahyar moved to Vienna in 2008 to pursue a musical career that has led her to collaborations with artists such as Erkan Ogur, Alain Pérez and the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra.
In 2011, she met Iranian-Austrian guitarist and composer Mahan Mirarab, an internationally active interpreter of Persian music in the medium of jazz. Since then, they have been inseparable musical partners and have been pursuing their shared vision in various bands and projects for almost a decade.
In the impressively broad sounding world of the Golnar & Mahan Trio, which is masterfully and imaginatively complemented by Austrian percussionist Amir Wahba, their musical development can be traced over the years - a maturity that remains true to the ever-changing character of human expression through music.
The concert will take place on Friday, 28.11.2025, at Galerie Unterlechner. Admission is by voluntary donation.
