Women's jazz orchestra as part of "Orange the world"
Women's Jazz Orchestra presents "Come Together Tour: Folk meets Jazz"
As part of the global "Orange the World" campaign, which draws attention to violence against women and girls, this concert sends a strong musical signal for equality, empowerment and solidarity.
The Women's Jazz Orchestra, a powerful ensemble of top-class female musicians, presents a varied program of classical and modern jazz compositions with a lot of joy, depth and passion.
Highlights of the evening:
- Before the Women's Jazz Orchestra takes to the stage, the talented support group Girls 5! opens with fresh jazz, energy and enthusiasm. The quintet with Valentina Baumgartner, Momo Graf, Klara Schwieger, Sophia Pachner and Victoria Vogl provides the perfect prelude.
- A rousing jazz concert with an all-female line-up
- Information and awareness-raising on the topic of violence prevention
Wear orange! Show your solidarity with women and girls worldwide by wearing an orange item of clothing or accessory on this evening.
Since March 9, 2018, the Frauen Jazz Orchester has officially been an association, FJO for short, and in this form remains the only all-female, larger jazz ensemble in Austria and throughout Europe. The FJO offers a unique platform for professional female musicians of all ages. We deliberately do not call it the Tyrolean Women's Jazz Orchestra, as it has proven itself to be international, with a focus on Tyrolean female artists. A lively exchange of cultural diversity makes it possible to remain open and always up-to-date.
This is also the theme of the current Come Together Tour: Folk meets Jazz. In this project, the FJO dedicates itself to regional songs from the musicians' various countries of origin. With a focus on world music, the orchestra will take you on a musical journey and immerse you in the world of modern jazz and present European folklore. In the world of music, borders dont exist. The Women Jazz Orchestra creates a new form of solidarity by uniting multinational folklore and jazz.
Tickets are available for Euro 24,- via oeticket.com or at the box office.
