Stubai Friday Music "Off the Beaten Track"

June 2002: it all began on a Friday

Sonja, Hubert and Peter - 3 thoroughbred musicians from Tyrol have been playing together in the formation "Stubaier Freitagsmusig" for over 20 years. Their repertoire includes genuine Tyrolean folk music and many original compositions, which are presented to the audience in changing line-ups with Styrian harmonica, accordion, guitar, jew's harp and double bass.

The formation also likes to venture beyond the musical horizon. Their repertoire covers a wide range of different musical styles, from genuine Tyrolean folk music and many original compositions to world and pop music from the North Pole to the South Pole.

Already 6 published recordings and numerous appearances on ORF, BR, SFR and RAI South Tyrol on both television and radio testify to their high quality and popularity.

Hubert Eberl is a music teacher and Peter Margreiter is head of the folk music department at the Tyrolean State Conservatory. Sonja Steusloff-Margreiter works in project management and organization for folk music events. Peter Margreiter is chairman of the Tyrolean Folk Music Association and a freelancer for ORF Tirol.
