Like the other ensembles of this genre, SAXOFOUR lives from the high individuality of its musicians. Apart from an idiosyncratic arrangement on Boblicity, the program features only original compositions. They have a stimulating effect and encourage the musicians to play wildly expressive solos. There is always one or more instruments underneath with rhythmic riffs.
Regardless of whether lyrical themes or up tempos are the order of the day, the musicians always rock up to dynamic turbulence with wit and ludicrous ideas. (crown)
