Are you still asleep? Don't you know that today is Sunday? Had you forgotten I was coming?
Every Sunday, Joop visits his mother with dementia in the nursing home, bringing her into the normal world for a short time.
You are my mother is a play about dementia, performed by an actor who embodies both characters.
The mother and the son, connected by DNA, separated by forgetting. Without melancholy, clear, distinct, humorous. A shadow play of memory, interwoven in the now.
