Une soirée à Paris

20:00 O'Clock

Concert by the municipal orchestra, Silver Summer 2024

Where city walls and ramparts once protected Paris, there are now ring roads. Instead of defense through barriers, wide paths now offer access to one another. And this is exactly what music does like no other medium! The Schwaz Municipal Orchestra (conductor: Michael Plattner) invites you to a barrier-free encounter with the music of composers who all lived in Paris in the 19th and 20th centuries. Works by Charles Gounod, Erik Satie, Camille Saint-Saëns (cello concerto in A minor with the great soloist Edgar Gredler from Schwaz) and, as a special rarity, a symphony by Louise Farrenc, from a time when women had to overcome extra high walls to be recognized as artists with great creative potential.
