This impressive trail is a classic that leads through a landscape you will never forget.
On a well groomed cross-country track trail, with a vista that could be straight out of a picture book you skate from the toll gate Hinterriß to the Alpengasthof Eng inn.The Rißtal valley is closed for vehicle traffic in winter, thus you find a marvellous path for winter sports into the hindmost part of the Rißtal, the Eng (literally: "the narrow"), and back.

| Getting there: | Von Innsbruck oder Kufstein aus: Autobahnabfahrt A12 Jenbach, durch Jenbach der Achenseestraße folgen nach Maurach am Achensee; in Maurach auf Bundesstraße 181 in Richtung Deutschland, Straßenverlauf folgen. Nach der Grenzüberschreitung nach Bayern (307), in Richtung Lenggries. Zum Sylvensteinsee, dort links Richtung Fall, Vorderriss. Straßenverlauf folgen nach Vorderriss, hier links nach Hinterriss, nach ca. 10 Kilometern am Ziel. Parken im Naturparkhaus Karwendel, Hinterriß nach dem alten Zollhaus rechts. |
