This cross-country ski trail is an absolute classic and leads through an impressive winter landscape to the ‘Großer Ahornboden’ natural monument.
The route covers around 30 kilometres and is particularly suitable for athletic cross-country skiers. As the Rißtal valley is closed to traffic in winter, the trail is ideal for relaxing tours in peaceful surroundings.

Großer Ahornboden

The "Große Ahornboden" (Great Maple Ground) was voted the most beautiful place in Tyrol. On 240 hectares there are 2,300 maple trees, the oldest of which already count around 700 annual rings. The sycamore maple is dominant in the Karwendel Mountains, it loves the gravelly soil.
