Waldhorbalm
Cabins & Alpine Pastures
Waldhorb liegt auf 1575m. Im Sommer wird gemäht, im Herbst weiden die Kälber. Wanderer können sich mit hofeigener Kost stärken!
The mountain pasture belongs to the "Schick" family farm on Vomperberg.
Directions: The alp can be reached from Vomperberg, where a signposted, narrow, steadily ascending path leads from the Karwendelrast to the “Berger Eben”. From there, the path leads up to the “Meart”, where a bench invites you to take a break and enjoy a fantastic view of the Inn Valley and the surrounding mountains. Once you’ve reached this point, you’ve already completed two-thirds of the ascent. Shortly after the bench, take the path to the right at the junction. The route then winds its way through a short field of mountain pines and back into the forest. You’ll then pass through two wooden gates, and your destination draws ever closer. Make the final push up across the pasture, and the rustic alpine hut is already in sight.
Alternatively, you can start from the Puitner Stüberl and take the moderately steep path to the “Berger Eben”. The path then merges with the path from the Karwendelrast.
Parking is available at the former Karwendelrast inn and at the Puitner Stüberl.
